How to choose the type of electric stacker

When choosing an electric stacker, how do you choose the type? What aspects should be noted?

1. Select electric stacker according to job function
The basic operational functions of stacker trucks are horizontal transport, stacking/receiving, loading/unloading, and picking. According to the company to achieve the operating functions can be initially determined from the company's product line. In addition, special operating functions will affect the specific configuration of the stacker, such as paper rolls, hot metal, etc., and stackers are required to install attachments to perform special functions.

2.According to job requirements choose stacker

Stacker truck operation requirements include the general requirements for pallets or cargo specifications, lifting heights, working lane widths, grades, etc., but also need to consider operating habits (such as accustomed to driving or standing), operating efficiency (different models have different efficiency) Other requirements.

3.Operating environment

If the goods or warehouse environment that companies need to handle have environmental requirements such as noise or exhaust emissions, they should be taken into account when selecting models and configurations. If it is in the cold storage or in the environment with explosion-proof requirements, the configuration of the stacker should also be cold storage or explosion-proof. Look carefully at the locations where the forklift needs to go through, and envisage possible problems, such as whether the height of the gate affects the stacker when entering or exiting the warehouse; the height of the elevator and the impact of the load on the stacker when entering or leaving the elevator; when working on the upper floor , whether the floor load meets the corresponding requirements, and so on.

Note: When selecting the type and determining the configuration, it is necessary to describe the working condition to the stacker supplier in detail and conduct field survey to ensure that the purchased stacker truck fully meets the needs of the enterprise. Even after completing the analysis of the above steps, there are still several models that can meet the above requirements at the same time. At this point you need to pay attention to the following aspects:

(1) Different models have different work efficiency, so the number of forklifts and the number of drivers required will also cause a series of changes in costs (see the discussion of cost in the performance evaluation section of this article).

(2) If a stacker truck is operated in a warehouse, the width of the channels required for different models will be different, and the lifting capacity will also be different. This will result in changes in the warehouse layout, such as changes in the storage of goods.

(3) Changes in vehicle models and their number will affect fleet management and many other aspects.

(4) Different models have different market holdings and different after-sale protection capabilities. For example, low-position driving three-way stackers and high-position driving three-way stackers are narrow-channel forklifts, all of which can be in very narrow channels ( 1.5 to 2.0 meters) Completion of stacking/stacking and picking. However, the former's cab cannot be upgraded, resulting in poor visibility and low work efficiency. Because the latter can completely cover the former's function and its performance is superior, the latter's market sales in Europe are 4 to 5 times higher than the former, and 6 times higher in China. Therefore, most suppliers focus on the development of high-lift three-way trucks, while the low-drive three-way trucks are only used in small tonnage and low lifting heights (typically within 6 meters). When the market sales volume is very low, the service capacity of its after-sales service engineers, engineers' experience, spare parts inventory levels and other service capabilities will be relatively weak.
